Steel grade s355j2h is a mild steel carbon steel specification that is a low cost material. The material is easy to form and shape. The standard is EN10210 for the EN 10210 s355j2h steel pipe types. These come in different grades such as the S275J2H, S355J2H, S275NH and so on. The standards are hot finished structural, hollow sections of non-alloy and fine grain steels. The S355j2h CHS Tube material has carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur in the composition.

The carbon content is only 0.22% so that the EN 10210 S355j2h material is known as low carbon or mild carbon steel. The chemical composition provides the material with high mechanical properties. The minimum tensile strength of the pipes is up to 630MPa and the minimum yield strength is 355MPa. The S355j2h seamless tube has 22% minimum elongation. The usage is wide along structural applications and in general corrosive services.
There are various wall thicknesses and outer diameters to the pipes. The outer diameter of the pipes range from ¼ inches to 24 inches and the wall thickness of the S355j2h welded pipe ranges widely. The wall thicknesses and outer diameters determine the pressure capacities and the schedules. There are sch10 through XXS schedules available in this grade of pipe. The EN 10210-1 seamless pipe can be easily welded with most conventional methods without the need for preheating.
