ASTM A691 Class 22 Pipe comes in various sizes ranging from ½ inch to 36 inches based on the standards and schedules. The material grade varies and there are different compositions. The grade 9Cr and 91 have vanadium in the composition. The ASTM A691 9cr Cl22 Steel Pipe is one of the several classes and is most used. It is a stress relieved material pipe. The composition includes carbon, manganese, phosphorus, silicon, sulfur, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium in a few grades.

The ASTM A691 1 1/4cr Cl22 can vary in thickness from 3mm to 12mm and the schedules range from sch5 through XXS. Depending on the schedules, wall thickness and pipe diameter, the pressure capacities of the ASTM A691 Grade 2.1/4cr vary as well. There are classes ranging as 10,11,12 and up to 73. Each different class and grade of material has its own mechanical and physical properties appropriate for different application sets. There are seamless, ERW, welded, fabricated and LSAW pipe types. The ASTM A691 Gr 11 Welded Pipe can be easily welded with most conventional methods.


The pipes can come in round, square, rectangular and hydraulic types. The ASTM A691 Gr.91 Seamless Pipe is used with construction and structural applications for the most part. There are different finishes available for the pipes such as cold rolled or cold drawn. The ASTM A691 Pipe Material is made into plain end, beveled end or threaded end pipe types. There are equivalent pipe types in other grades of material that can be used in place of ASTM A691 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipe as well.
